Leadership in the rankings of associations
In 2021, the Association took 1st place in the ranking of associations in the "Environment, recycling, waste management" category. The rating was prepared by the Russian Association of Public Relations which unites more than 100 companies in the PR sector. The rating is compiled based on the communication activity of associations. Wastepaper Processors League outperformed RusPEK, RusPRO, and Clean country associations, as well as industry associations in the timber industry, by a wide margin.
Inclusion of Association members in the EPR information system
All members of the Association are included in the Federal Waste Management Scheme, which is being developed by the Public Company "Russian Ecological Operator". Joint work is being carried out with the "Russian Ecological Operator" and associations of recyclers on the integration of industry information into the EPR information system.
Launch of weekly price indices
There is widespread use of price indices by market participants and federal executive authorities.
Industry conference in Nizhny Novgorod
Representatives of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Public Company "Russian Ecological Operator" and Sberbank, as well as journalists from the national media, took part in the field conference in Nizhny Novgorod, organized by the Association. Over the two days, the conference participants visited four enterprises: the paper mill of JSC Volga, the Balakhna cardboard factory, the Nikol-Pak factory for the production of coreboard and boxboard, a wastepaper sorting facility and a public collection station for secondary raw materials of the Istok company. The program was designed in such a way that it was possible to trace the whole production cycle from the collection of waste paper to the manufacturing of paper products.
International activity
A visit to Sweden was organized as part of an official Russian delegation headed by the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. Representatives of the Association spoke at a session on the circular economy at the Stockholm School of Economics with the participation of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, and the Minister of Foreign Trade of Sweden, Anna Hallberg. Speakers from leading Swedish and Russian companies also participated in the discussion: Jesper Brodin, General Director of IngkaGroup (IKEA), and Kristin Leveque, Leader of the Sustainable Development Cluster in Europe and Central Asia of Tetra Pak. Elin Bergman, COO, Vice President of the Swedish Circular Economy Group Cradlenet moderated the discussion.
