Volga JSC is re-equipping the energy complex

Kaluga Turbine Plant (KTZ) will manufacture and supply a 27 MW condensing turbine to the Volga Industrial Complex as part of the first stage of the strategic development project of the enterprise aimed at expanding the product range, increasing production capacity and improving energy efficiency.

Under the contract, KTZ will manufacture and supply a K-27-1,3 type condensing turbine. The delivery package will include an automatic control system for a steam turbine installation and a TAP-30-2U3 type generator. The prototype of the product was the K-27-2.9 turbine, which KTZ had previously manufactured and supplied for the Estonian SevernoKaluzhsky Turbine Plant will supply the Volga turbine plant with a condensing turbine as part of the first stage of the strategic development project of the enterprise aimed at expanding the product range, increasing production capacity and improving energy efficiency.th TPP.

Unlike the previous product, the new turbine is designed for an initial steam pressure of 1.3 Mpa, which is almost two times less than the prototype (3 MPa). Due to the low initial pressure, the steam consumption for generating 27 MW of power will be exceeded compared to the prototype. For the possibility of passing steam through the turbine of large parameters, KTZ engineers will change the geometry of the steam inlet, the flow part and the exhaust pipe. In the remaining nodes of the product, the principle of modular design will be used with the use of already proven technical solutions.

"The technical re-equipment of the energy complex (NiGRES) of Volga JSC, with the replacement of the decommissioned R-32-130 turbine with a new K-27-1,3 (turbine and generator) is part of the first stage of the priority strategic development project of the combine with investments of more than 5 billion rubles. The project is aimed at expanding the production of packaging types of paper and cardboard, increasing the production capacity for processing raw materials and improving the energy efficiency of the enterprise," says Sergey Pondar, General Director of Volga JSC.

The replacement of the turbine will ensure the growing energy consumption of Volga JSC due to the existing excess steam, which appeared as a result of the redistribution of thermal balances of consumers in the region and the seasonality of thermal loads.

"KTZ was chosen by us as a reliable partner with extensive experience in the production of turbines of this type. An additional advantage is that the supplier of the generator is the Electrosila plant, which is part of the same group of companies with the Kaluga Turbine Plant, which increases the reliability of the integrated supply and guarantees the achievement of contractual performance indicators for power and efficiency. Timely implementation of this project will allow Volga JSC to launch the existing and newly installed equipment at full capacity, bringing the plant to a new stage of development. We hope that KTZ will not let us down and will fulfill its obligations on time with proper quality," said Vasily Stepchenko, Deputy General Director for Non-Core Production of Volga JSC.

The production time of the equipment will be 16 months from the date of conclusion of the contract.
